What is it? A bun, two strips of mustard and ketchup, and a dog who has no idea why everyone is laughing. It fastens over the back and buckles under the chest, so it goes on in about ten seconds and comes off just as fast when they have had enough.
What do I get? One hot dog costume with adjustable straps and a soft padded body — no rigid parts. Available in S, M and L.
What size is it? Best on long dogs — dachshunds, corgis, bassets — the joke lands harder the longer the dog. Between sizes? Size up rather than down.
Will my dog actually wear it? Plenty won't at first. Put it on, praise, treat, take it off after thirty seconds, repeat over a few days before the night itself. A dog that has never worn anything before will not enjoy learning on Halloween evening with the doorbell going.
